e started this site because we know that people who visit this City, or even those who live in it, love to look at San Francisco city scenes. Once you've witnessed vistas of the Bay and its bridges, hills that pass for streets, and the Victorian masterpieces that peek at you from most every corner, well, it's hard to get those images out of your mind. And we also know that visitors in town for a few days may not get a chance to visit galleries or studios to view some of the exciting images that are being produced by the area's leading artists. Trust us, there is another art world in San Francisco outside of what you'll find at Fisherman's Wharf.

e're tapped into the real San Francisco art community and are in touch with artists and photographers who have chosen the City as their subject matter. We follow their work and visit their studios regularly. Though San Francisco's street scenes are recognized the world over; we're trying to go beyond the visual cliche to find images that truly capture this magical place.

e also want to share an insider's perspective of the City with you. Under "City Connections" we'll feature recommendations by locals on favorite restaurants, stores, and killer views. We'll also run essays and features on travel subjects (e.g., mural tours of the Mission and where to find Victorian homes) to get you in the mood for your next trip to the City. So if you can't visit San Francisco as often as you'd like, just bookmark the site. "A View of San Francisco" might just be the next best thing.

e'd love to stay in touch with you to let you know about upcoming artists and other events we're planning for the site. Please sign our guest book below.
