We really enjoyed taking the ASA Basic Keel Boat Course from you. Youe were most hospitable and patient with us. We would highly reccomend your course to anyone who wishes to learn to sail. We will look forward to further encounters with Martin's ASA Sailing School in the future.

I can kick out of the office early afternoon, and from Sacramento be at the dock with a boat that's rigged and ready to go in just over an hour. And who can argue about a late afternoon sail in the delta?
Life's too short not to sail!

I received my Basic Keelboat Certification and the Basic Coastal Crusiing certificates with Martin Dunn. Martin is a thorough and competent instructor and his 'Unlimited Sailing Package' is an excellent way to learn to sail. Martin's Sailing School is a great value and a safe and reliable way to learn to sail; then sail as much as you want without incurring the cost of owning a boat. If you would like to hear about my experiences with Martin''s programs, please call me. I am happy to share my thoughts.

During the Spring of 1998 I had the pleasure of instructing a wonderful family that came all the way from Michigan to attend classes with me; Liz Fagel, her husband Gary, and daughter Amanda. Liz had bought a Catalina 22 and wanted her husband and daughter to learn about sailing and about the boat. Please follow the link to Liz's web site for her opinions about Martin's ASA Sailing School.

I heartily recommend Martin as a sailing instructor to beginners and anyone needing a refresher course. I also recommend Martin’s Sailing School as an inexpensive alternative to boat ownership; after two years of participation, I have experienced at least 50 days of wonderful sailing on....... lake and not once was I unable to get a boat on a day that I wanted to sail. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions.

Mr. Dunn sets high standards for his students and the equipment he operates. The safety equipment and documentation on the boats is always maintained in an exemplary fashion, and the equipment is kept clean and orderly. His instruction stresses safety, basic sailing techniques, good citizenship, and sailing etiquette... I recommend Mr. Dunn to anyone seeking convenient and economical access to sailing.

Dear Martin,As you know, I have taken a series sailing lessons from you this season. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your excellent job. As you know I have taken a series of sailing classes from the American Sailing Association prior to my lessons with you. I have found your training on the same caliber. I believe that your instruction has increased my sailing knowledge and more importantly made me a better sailor. I found that you sailing instruction to be very straight forward, logical, and easy to follow. Instructions were very clear and easy to remember in class as well as after the training. The hands-on-approach allowed me to feel comfortable with each skill before going on to the next task. Since our lessons together, I have felt more comfortable sailing due to my increased knowledge.
Thank you for helping me enjoy the sport of sailing. Please feel free to use me as a reference anytime.

Sincerely,
Georgianne Turner

...we are having a lot of fun on the lake now, because you taught us how to handle just about anything, including when not to be on the lake ... without your sailing club we would have the opportunity to improve our skills using a larger boat. As you know, when our name came up for a slip we got our own Catalina 22, but we wouldn't have taken that leap without first joining your club and making sure we really would use a sailboat often. We did, so we took the leap... we obviously had a very positive experience with you as a sailing instructor, and with your program. If I can provide a reference for Martin’s Sailing School. please feel free to share this letter, or have them call me.
Thanks again!

I am writing this letter to express my appreciation for the quality and professional sailing school that you have organized. As a retired high school and collegiate professor, I am very impressed with your organization and detail. My wife and I have quickly picked up the terminology and are confident in your thoroughness in covering safety and emergency situations. Our independent sailing trips have gone very well. Each voyage has been very enjoyable and we are very happy that we enrolled in your excellent sailing school.

I have known Martin for the last several years where I have been involved with him in the operation of his sailing school, Martin is an extremely avid sailor and knowledgeable teacher. He seems to have a true love and affinity for the art and science of making wind powered boats go and, secondarily is an extremely effective teacher.
