TCP/IP-Transfer Control Protocol/Internet Protocol
(the base protocol (or digital language) on which the Internet is founded)
PPP-Point to Point Protocol (allows your computer to transfer info via a Modem)
Modem-a device that lets your computer talk with another computer via phone lines
ISP-Internet Service Provider
ie; AOL, Compuserve, Sirius, NetCom, ect.
Servers (Large computers that users (you and I) to connect to the internet)
Browsers (applications that let you use the internet)
URL (Uniform Resource Locater or Web Address)
HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol)-protocol used by WWW
HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) programing language used to create Web pages
