Let
me tell you a bit about myself
Originally born and bred a Tarheel (a proud native of North Carolina),
I now live in San Francisco. In college I studied both commercial art
and fine art. Like a lot of artists I wound up working in a restaurant
for many years. After rising to a management position, where I dealt
with a lot more stress for a lot less money, I knew it was time to go
back to school. In 1992 I enrolled in the computer graphics program
at San Francisco City College. I found computers very difficult to learn
at first. It really wasn't until I got my own computer at home (a Macintosh)
and could do the same things over and over again that I really started
to learn.
I never imagined I would one day be an instructor after my initial
difficulty learning computer applications and concepts. After a couple
of years of developing my skills. I realized that my liability could
now be my asset. In other words my inability to learn computers made
it relatively easy for me to explain and instruct in simple and plain
language.
Besides spending a lot of time in front of the computer I also enjoy
painting and drawing in traditional media, camping, biking, skiing,
sailing and city life.
